Women’s Asia Cup 2022: Shafali, Smriti star as India register comprehensive 59-run win against Bangladesh

Xtra Time Web Desk: It was perfect comeback innings from Shafali Verma (55 off 44 balls) as India women bounced back to winning ways against Bangladesh women in the ongoing Women’s Asia Cup 2022 at Sylhet on Saturday. Smriti Mandhana and her team registered a comprehensive 59 runs win to remain on top of points table. The Indian women has so far won 4 out of 5 matches in the tournament.
Chasing 160, Bangladesh women could only manage 100/7 in 20 overs against a disciplined Indian bowling. Shafali Verma (2/10) and Deepti Sharma (2/13) were the two most successful bowlers for India. Sneh Rana and Renuka Thakur took one wicket each.
Earlier, a fine half-century from Shafali Verma and a 96-run stand with Smriti Mandhana (47 from 38 balls) powered India to a competitive 159/5 in their 20 overs.
