Xtra Time Web Desk: World No. 1Novak Djokovic created history on Sunday by drawing level with long time rivals and fiercest competitors Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal by winning his 20th Grand Slam. The Serb won the men’s singles final 6-7(4), 6-4, 6-4, 6-3 against seventh-seeded Italian Matteo Berrettini at the Centre Court of Wimbledon. Djokovic was shocked in the first set by the Italian playing in his first Wimbledon final. But he came back strongly to win the next three sets.

Djokovic, who has already clinched his ninth Australian Open crown (defeated Medvedev) in February and a second Roland Garros title (beat Tsitsipas) last month, will now target the calendar-year Grand Slam after earning his sixth Wimbledon title.

The 34-year-old Djokovic will hope to emulate Don Budge (1938) and Rod Laver (1962 and 1969) in winning all four Grand Slam tournaments in a single season.

The historic victory, over three hours and 23 minutes, saw Djokovic become only the fourth man in the Open Era to win three straight Wimbledon titles, after Federer, Bjorn Borg and Pete Sampras.
