Will Sourav Ganguly remove the pictures of the Pakistani cricketers from Eden Gardens?

Kolkata: Just like Mohali, DDCA and CCI Bharatia Janata Party (BJP) wants Cricket Association of Bengal should remove the picture of Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan following the terrorist attack in Pulwama where 44 CRPF jawan were killed. BJP’s Yuva Morcha & RSS had planned for a protest in front of the Eden Gardens on Friday but they failed to gather a mass crowd. There were enough police protection in front of CAB to stop any gathering as well. As per the sources the Yuva Morcha of BJP can organize their protest on Saturday.

But the question is if the CAB removes the pictures of Pakistani cricketers from the Eden Gardens will all the problem end? On being asked about the matter, CAB President Sourav Ganguly said,” Everyone has their own way of protest. In a democratic country you will find different ways of protest.” Though BJP’s President of West Bengal, Dilip Ghosh said,” The nation which is trying put our nation in danger, we won’t allow to keep the pictures of the cricketers of that country at the Eden Gardens. The CAB must remove those pictures as quickly as possible otherwise the Yuva Morcha will protest against this.” There are pictures of Imran Khan, Ramiz Raja, Wasim Akram at the Club House of Eden Gardens.

Just like most other former Indian cricketers Ganguly also feel that there is no chance off any cricketing ties between two nations in near future. “I can’t see any hope to start the bilateral series between these two countries once again. The Central Government will take the ultimate decision. This time people reacted strongly. Pakistan players were also banned from Olympic sports as their visas were cancelled,” Ganguly added.

Not only the whole world but BCCI also trying to corner Pakistan. They will also sent a letter to ICC to prevent Pakistan from playing upcoming ICC Cricket World Cup. Though former Indian skipper Sourav thinks it’s not easy to corner Pakistan from the World Cup. He said, “In last few years these two countries didn’t play against each other in a bilalateral series and now there is no chance to start it. Only they meet each other in the ICC events. I hope the effect of the incident will reduce by the time the World Cup will start but I can’t comment whether Pakistan will be banned or not. It’s not easy for BCCI to convince ICC as the ball is on the court of International Cricket Council. It’s not the right time to comment on that.”
