Will Sanju Samson get a nod in playing XI for first ODI against Zimbabwe?

Xtra Time Web Desk: The Indian cricket team had a rigorous training session on Tuesday at the Harare Sports Club. It was the third practice session for the Men in Blue since arriving at the Zimbabwe capital. The entire team attended the training session. All eyes will be on Deepak Chahar, who is making a comeback from injury after almost six months. Interim coach VVS Laxman and captain KL Rahul gave the team a pep talks in the team huddle before the start of practice session. The players after going through some warm up drills were involved in a game of football. The likes of Prasidh Krishna, Axar Patel, Ishan Kishan and Ruturaj Gaikwad seemed to be enjoying some football skills.

After the warm up session the players were involved in fielding drills and catching practice. Ishan Kishan and Sanju Samson both were seen practicing keeping. The players were also given high catching practice.

Captain KL Rahul and his deputy Shikhar Dhawan were seen walking first to the nets. It looks all likely that both the senior batters will start the innings for India in the upcoming three match ODI series. It will be tricky as to who bats at No 3 as there are several options with the team management. The likes of Shubman Gill, Sanju Samson, Ruturaj Gaikwad and Deepak Hooda all batted at the three adjacent nets.

The fast bowlers after rolling their arms in the practice wickets in the middle headed to the nets. Mohammed Siraj and Avesh Khan were seen bowling at full steam in the nets. The spinners Kuldeep Yadav, Axar Patel also had a fair share of bowling at the nets.

The Men in Blue will have another practice session on Wednesday before finally deciding on the playing XI for the first ODI on Thursday, August 18.
