Will Rohit Sharma travel to Dhaka ahead of second test against Bangladesh? | BANvIND

Xtra Time Web Desk: There is a speculation that India captain Rohit Sharma will be joining the squad in Dhaka ahead of the second test which gets underway from December 22. According to reports Rohit has recovered from his thumb injury he suffered during the second ODI at Sher e Bangla stadium.

There is no official confirmation from the BCCI though. As per the media manager on tour, Rohit is being assessed by the BCCI medical team and nothing has been intimated about his arrival to Dhaka.

It was during Bangladesh innings when Rohit tried to take a catch of Anamul Haque in the 2nd slip. But the ball hit the surface and hit him on the thumb. He immediately had to be rushed to the dressing room for treatment and later taken to hospital as well for scans.

The Indian captain already missed the third ODI and is not playing the ongoing first test as well. He is in India currently.

Rohit has started training at the gymnasium at the Bandra Kurla Complex in Mumbai. He was seen interacting with Zimbabwe U19 cricketers at BKC on Thursday.

Rohit Sharma hasn’t played a Test match since the home series against Sri Lanka earlier this year. He missed the 5th test against England in July due to COVID-19, with Jasprit Bumrah leading the side. KL Rahul is leading the first test against Bangladesh at Zahur Ahmed Chaudhury stadium.
