‘Will develop infrastructure for better fan experience’: Sourav Ganguly after success of IPL Media Rights auction

Xtra Time Web Desk: The Board of Control for Cricket in India President (BCCI) Sourav Ganguly on Wednesday made a big commitment to the fans after the super success of IPL Media Rights auction. The Indian cricket board got richer by Rs 48,390 Crore. After the cash windfall in IPL Media Rights, many questioned what will the board do with that money. BCCI President Sourav Ganguly said the board will spend that money in developing infrastructure for a better fan experience. The revamped National Cricket Academy (NCA) will also be amongst them.

“We will work on it for sure and develop overall infrastructure for a better fan experience. A lot of new stadiums have come up, and the infrastructure of cricket in this country is huge. We will redo a few stadiums a bit and bring back IPL with completely different extravaganza and fandom next year,” Sourav Ganguly told Sportstar.

There are several new stadiums coming up across the country. New stadiums are already being built in venues like Chandigarh, Jaipur while the existing stadiums will be developed to suit modern needs.

Cricket Association of Bengal has recently acquired a land from West Bengal Government to built a new state of the art cricket stadium. Ganguly met the West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee to discuss on the matter.
