Why was Team India's throwdown specialist Raghu spotted with a brush in hand at Adelaide Oval during rain affected Bangladesh game? | T20 World Cup 2022
Xtra Time Web Desk: Team India’s throwdown specialist Raghavendra, popularly known as Raghu, was spotted running around the Adelaide Oval ground during the rain-affected Super 12 clash in the ongoing T20 World Cup between India and Bangladesh. Raghu was with his brush to clean the Indian players' shoes in order to avoid the possibility of slipping on the soggy outfield at Adelaide Oval after a heavy downpour stopped play for 45 minutes. Rohit Sharma and his boys beat Bangladesh by five runs.
Raghu, who is India's throwdown specialist for years, was going around the boundary ropes to clean the soles of the shoes of Indian cricketers to enable them to move freely on the wet outfield. He was removing the mud with a thick brush.
As far as the match was concerned, India posted 184 runs batting first. Virat Kohli and KL Rahul scored fifties. Bangladesh opener Liton Das was on fire when rain stopped play, perhaps breaking his momentum.
The revised target for Bangladesh was 151 in 16 overs. The Tigers could only manage 145/6, thereby losing the match by Duckworth Lewis method.
