Why Umran Malik, Kuldeep Sen could not travel to Australia as net bowlers? | T20 World Cup 2022

Xtra Time Web Desk: Promising pacer duo Umran Malik and Kuldeep Sen could not travel to Australia as they both had issues obtaining Australian visa. Umran and Kuldeep were supposed to travel with the Indian squad as net bowlers for the upcoming T20 World Cup 2022 in Australia. The duo will now feature for their respective state sides in the ongoing Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy.

Umran Malik, who plays for Sunrisers Hyderabad in IPL caught the attention of the cricketing world by bowling the fastest delivery in IPL 2022. In fact, he created history by becoming the first Indian pacer to touch 157 kmph-mark. Disappointed for not being able to travel Down Under, Umran will join the Jammu and Kashmir squad in Mohali ahead of their clash against Meghalaya in Syed Mustaq Ali Trophy.

Like Umran, Kuldeep Sen’s departure has also been delayed. Initially, Umran, Mohammed Siraj, and Sen were scheduled to fly with the India squad to their training base in Perth on October 6.

BCCI sent left arm pacer duo Mukesh Chaudhari and Chetan Sakariya to Perth instead as the Indian team management requested for net bowlers.
