Chinnaswamy Stadium, Arshdeep Singh emerged as the unexpected hero securing a win for the Men in Blue in the final over. The left arm pacer defended 10 runs in the final over to seal the game for the hosts. Arshdeep had a pretty mediocre game, giving away 37 runs in his first 3 overs. But he delivered when it mattered as he reposed the faith on him by captain Suryakumar Yadav.
Despite his pivotal role in the last-over triumph, Arshdeep couldn’t shake off the feeling that he was the “culprit” of the game.
Reflecting on his performance, Arshdeep admitted, “For almost the first 19 overs, I was thinking that I gave away too many runs and would be the culprit of the game.”
Despite his initial doubts, he credited divine intervention for providing him with another chance and expressed gratitude for the support from the team staff.
“God gave me another chance, and I believed in myself. Thanks to God that I defended it and thanks to the staff as well who believed in me,” Arshdeep acknowledged after the match.
