Why is it getting concerning with Jasprit Bumrah’s back injury ahead of T20 World Cup?

Xtra Time Web Desk: It is getting concerning for the Indian cricket team as premier fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah has again complained for back pain due to which he has been ruled out of the first T20I against South Africa at Trivandrum on Wednesday night.

Bumrah, who missed the Asia Cup 2022, due to a back injury, returned to the Indian team during the recently concluded T20I series against Australia where he also didn’t play the first match due to fitness concerns. The constant injuries of Bumrah is a big concern for India as they have been struggling in their death-over bowling in recent matches.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India took to Twitter to inform that the premier pacer felt some discomfort in his back and the medical team is assessing the situation.

“Jasprit Bumrah complained of back pain during India’s practice session on Tuesday. The BCCI Medical Team assessed him. He is ruled out of the first #INDvSA T20I,” BCCI tweeted.

With less than a month before the start of the ICC T20 World Cup, it is becoming concerning with Bumrah’s back injury. It has troubled him for a long time now. He has played only two matches since his return after the break. He finished with figures of 1/23 and 0/50 in the two matches. He seemed to get back his return in the second T20I at Nagpur. He bowled a peach of a delivery to Australian captain Aaron Finch, getting him bowled with a yorker.

Bumrah’s back pain is not good news for the Indian team management as the ‘Men in Blue’ have been struggling with their death bowling.
