Who is Lance Morris and why he is spoken highly about ahead of test series against India?

Xtra Time Web Desk: Meet Australia’s new fast bowling sensation Lance Morris who is already creating headlines with his pace. Morris can consistently bowl at 150kmph and will be the player to watch out for in the upcoming test series against India starting next month. The 24-year-old tearaway pacer has been included in Australia’s 18-member squad for the four-match Border-Gavaskar series starts next month.

With left arm pacer Mitchell Starc ruled out of the first Test against India starting February 9 in Nagpur, there is a great chance that Morris can be unleashed by the Aussie team management against the Indians. He can be a like-for-like replacement and can trouble the Indian batters with his express pace and accuracy.

Talking about Morris, the fast bowler made people sit back and take notice in Sheffield Shield and BBL by knocking over batters by consistently clocking 150kmph on speedgun. A raw teenager from Dunsborough, which is three hours’ drive from Perth in Western Australia, Morris made his first-class debut in 2020. He bagged 12 wickets from five games in his debut first-class season. Thereafter, he played every match for Western Australia during their drought-breaking Shield winning campaign last summer when he took 20 wickets.

Having worked with Western Australia’s bowling coach Matt Mason, Morris has made slight changes to his bowling action and is now even more dangerous.

Morris, who plies his trade with Scorchers in BBL, is also the leading wicket-taker in the Sheffield Shield this season. The speedster believes he has the “best chance” to make his debut in the opening Test against India.

So, come February 9 as fans can expect Australia to unleash their new pace sensation Lance Morris in the first test against India.
