XtraTime Web Desk: Despite being the champions of the Hero I-League, the new champions of India is now in serious trouble.
Ranjit Bajaj, the owner and manager of I-League champions Minerva Punjab, has fumed his anger on All India Football Federation over the issue of the Super Cup.
The qualifiers for the much-criticised tournament is set to begin on March 15th in Bhubaneswar. But Bajaj states that he is not even remotely interested in participating in the competition, highlighting budget constraints and the format.
The owner of Minerva also termed the new tournament as “Tamasha”! Listening to that, the AIFF Vice President Subrata Dutta said, “Yes, we have received their letter. As a parent body, we need to be a bit more patient. We will call them for a discussion and we stringly believe that they will play in the competition.”
But as per a strong AIFF source, if Minerva doesn’t play the Super Cup, AIFF will take such a disciplinary action, which might write a new history in Indian football. Ranjit Bajaj too might face serious punishment after the comments he has made.
