What will happen if rain plays spoilsport in World Test Championship Final?

Xtra Time Web Desk: With just three days to go for the much-anticipated ICC World Test Championships final between India and Australia to be played at the Oval from June 7, there is considerable amount of interest. Both teams have started preparation in full swing.

Even though Australia holds the top spot in WTC points table it will not guarantee them winning the WTC title if the test match is draw. Pat Cummins and his team have 152 points from 19 tests with 66.67 PCT. Rohit Sharma led India are second in WTC points table with 127 points from 18 tests with 58.8 PCT.

Good news for fans as there is no forecast of showers in the next week here in London but still if rain plays spoilsport and there is no result on a reserve day on June 12, the ICC mace will be shared between the two participating teams in the final.

ICC has kept a provision of a reserve day i.e., on June 12 but it will only be considered if considerable time is lost in respect of overs or net playing time in the initial five days. Net playing time is 30 hours of play which is six hours per day or 90 overs per day. According to the playing conditions, if rain does play a spoil sport in WTC Final then there will be joint winners.
