Internet Desk: There has been a change of venue for the three nation tournament which was supposed to be held at Chennai. But now it has been shifted to Mumbai’s Andheri where the tournament would be held.
The tournament is scheduled to start from August 19 and will continue till August 27.
After failing to get the green signal from Chennai, the venue was shifted to Mumbai. Apart from hosts India, the other two countries that would be participating are Mauritius and St. Kitts & Neves whose FIFA rankings are much lower compared to India.
Not only this, there also has been a change in the venue of the training camp. The players are scheduled to join the training camp from tomorrow at Mumbai.
“This is a fact that the venue has been shifted to Andheri and since the entire venue has been shifted to Mumbai, we have also shifted the practice venue too” said AIFF secretary Kushal Das.
However East Bengal players claimed that they haven’t yet received plane tickets from the AIFF and as a reasult they won’t be joining the camp tomorrow. However they could join the squad on August 11.
