If anyone look at the points table they might feel that the Red & Gold Brigade is playing really well, but in reality there are a lot of defencive lacks in the side. The four team they had faced in the tournament till now didn't look much threatening as they didn’t have a good forward line. There are still a lot of miscommunication between East Bengal’s two defenders Carlyle Mitchell and Gurwinder Singh Phagura which could become harmful for the side when they face a better side in future. Though the East Bengal gaffer defended his players as always by saying that,” If we see anything wrong during the game we will discuss about it and rectify the thing in the next match.” East Bengal will miss the services of their two star foreigners Carlyle Mitchell and Willis Plaza in the Railway FC game on Monday as they will return to Trinidad & Tobago for their national duties. The Red & Gold Brigade will also miss the services of their four Indian players along with Arnab Mondal and Md. Rafique. Khalid looked pretty confident ahead of the encounter against Railway FC,” My reserve bench is ready to take the slots of those players. I will give similar chances to every player. Plaza and Mitchell are the most important players of my side but in their absence I have sufficient players who can do well too for the side.” The Red & Gold gaffer today brought in Gabriel Fernandez and Surabuddin Mullick later in the game today. On being asked whether they have any fitness issue, Khalid said,”I want to give everyone a chance to play in the playing XI. That’s why I had brought them in the side and in my team we have more than a player in every position.” Though the Red and Gold Brigade won the match by 3-0, but the second goal was the most beautiful among all which was scored by Samad Ali Mullick. Samad received the ball from his team’s star midfielder Mahmoud Al Amna and he scored a stunner in the 56th minute of the game. Khalid and Al Amna, both lauded the performance of Samad. According to Amna Samad scored a brilliant goal today. He has the potential to become a very good player. Today Amna scored his first goal for the Red and Gold Brigade. He looked really happy after the goal. In last four matches he was the most consistent player of the team. In the last few seasons East Bengal always followed long ball theory as they didn’t have a good midfielder. But with the arrival of Amna they have started playing passing football in this season. He is playing a leader’s role in East Bengal midfield. “I am happy that my I have scored for my side, but my main job is to give passes to the forwards of the team. If I do this job positively I would be the happiest person in the World. I am thankful to god that he has helped me to score for East Bengal. I have done the same thing while playing for the Syrian national team. I am happy that the supporters have kept their faith in me.” East Bengal has already won four matches in CFL 2017. Though Khalid don’t want to be relaxed right now. According to the East Bengal gaffer they are not in the position to think of winning the title for the record eight times.” We will take one game at a time. If we win matches one by one on then it will be easy for us to win the title.” It is learnt that the Trinidad & Tobago Federation haven't sent any flight tickets for Plaza and Mitchell till now. They had a flight to catch today in the evening. It is yet to be decided when they will travel to their country for the International duties.
