Welcoming ATK Mohun Bagan, BFC owner Parth Jindal also wants East Bengal in ISL

BFC owner Parth Jindal wants East Bengal in ISL

XtraTime Web Desk: Bengaluru FC owner Parth Jindal is passionate about sports. The 30 year old dynamic youth, who is also the Chairman of Indian Premier League franchise Delhi Capitals, is excited to see arch rivals ATK Mohun making an entry as a single entity in the Indian Super League. The dynamic businessman feels that ATK-Mohun Bagan is going to be their biggest threat going forward in the ISL next season.

Welcoming ATK Mohun Bagan’s entry in ISL, Parth Jindal tweeted, “This is incredible and absolutely the correct decision – a great decision by the RPSG family. Can’t wait to play you next season @ATKFC @Mohun_Bagan”

Even though Mohun Bagan has secured an entry in to the Indian Super League, their arch-rivals East Bengal are not on the same course as of yet. The red and gold brigade has recently parted ways with their erstwhile investors Quess Corp. Ltd and is busy with the termination process for the time being. Urging East Bengal also to join the ISL, Parth tweeted on Saturday, “Come on @eastbengalfc, come in to the @IndSuperLeague now already – you’re the only thing missing from the league now.”

Mohun Bagan and ATK entered into a merger and will participate in the upcoming ISL as a separate entity. The first virtual meeting of the Board of Directors was held in Kolkata on Friday which was attended also by BCCI President Sourav Ganguly and RPSG Chairman Sanjeev Goenka. It was unanimously decided that the green and maroon colors of Mohun Bagan along with their iconic logo will be kept intact.

Bengaluru FC and Mohun Bagan have always shared a fierce rivalry since their I League days. Now with ATK Mohun joining the ISL, the rivalry will be re-ignited. In a recent live chat on ISL instagram handle , Parth said, “Mohun Bagan still gives me anxiety. East Bengal and Mohun Bagan, that rivalry, the kind of passion, there is something about that legacy, history, and the colours. You just feel like you are playing history, something bigger than anything,”

He added, “Every time you go to Kolkata to play a football game, I just feel like these guys have kept Indian football alive. While all of us focused on cricket, it is Goa and Kolkata who have kept Indian football alive. My biggest admiration is for their fans. Now that Roy Krishna beat us last year, our biggest rivalry is against ATK Mohun Bagan.”
