Xtra Time Web Desk: India captain Rohit Sharma on Saturday played down the hype surrounding the marquee clash between India and Pakistan in the upcoming T20 World Cup 2022 at Melbourne Cricket Ground on October 23. According to Rohit, the players from both teams share a good rapport and talk about normal things when they catch up off the field.

“We understand the importance of the game. But there is no point in talking about it all the time and creating that pressure within yourself,” Rohit Sharma said during the captain’s press conference in Melbourne on Saturday.

“Whenever we (India and Pakistan) players meet, when we met at the Asia Cup, we talk about our families, ask about what’s happening in our homes. That’s all. From the interactions that I have had with Babar’s teammates, we talk about such stuff only.”

He added, “Even the players from the previous generation have told us that the conversations were all about home, life and sometimes even about who’s getting a new car and what car.”

Pakistan captain Babar Azam said they will be looking to enjoy their time when they step out at the MCG for the high-octane match on October 23.

“When you play against India, it’s always high-intensity matches and fans also wait for this match. On the field, we always want to enjoy the contest and try and give our 100 percent,” said Babar.
