Virat Kohli smashes 2nd half century in IPL 2022; completes 7000 runs for RCB |

Xtra Time Web Desk: Is King Kohli back to form with a bang? It was literally a Tsunami of emotions as former RCB captain Virat Kohli smashed his way to form with a brilliant 74 runs knock in the IPL game against Gujarat Titans at Wankhede on Thursday night.

Kohli registered his second fifty of the season off just 33 deliveries. He ended up scoring 73 runs off 54 balls that included 8 hits to the fence and two massive sixes. Kohli was also involved in a century opening stand with RCB captain Faf d Plessis who scored 44 off 38 balls. He was eventually dismissed by Rashid Khan getting stumped.

Kohli, who was struggling with his form throughout the season looked in great touch with the bat while chasing a total of 169. He batted with a positive intent right from the start of the innings as he slammed couple of boundaries off Mohammad Shami in the third over of the innings to get into the groove.

Virat was given a reprieve early in the innings as he was dropped by Rashid Khan at deep-midwicket boundary, when he was at 16. The dropped catch resulted in a boundary.

Kohli utilised the opportunity and looked to make amends as he did not spare any GT bowlers. He reached his second fifty of the season in style by hitting a six over deep-midwicket off Rashid Khan in the first ball of the 10th over.

With the knock, Kohli also became the first player to score 7000 runs for RCB.
