Virat Kohli left stunned after Pujara’s decision to take DRS turned 100 percent correct | INDvsAUS

Xtra Time Web Desk: Cheteshwar Pujara’s decision to take a successful review against Usman Khawaja left Virat Kohli stunned. It was the first over after Tea break on Day 2 of the fourth and final test at Ahmedabad. Left arm spinner Axar Patel went through Khawaja’s defence on the first ball post tea. The Aussie opener attempted to nudge it towards the on-side but surprisingly missed the line of the delivery and is struck right in front of the stumps.

On field umpire Nitin Menon dismissed the appeal from the Indians. Pujara, who was captaining the side in the absence of Rohit Sharma consulted with Axar and KS Bharath and immediately signalled for a review. Pujara did not bother consulting with Kohli who was fielding in the slips.

The review showed that the ball would’ve indeed hit the stumps, as Khawaja’s gritty stay at the crease came to an end. The Aussie left hander played 422 balls for his 180 runs.

It seemed, Virat Kohli didn’t believe Khawaja was out at the time, and as the replays of the giant screen showed otherwise, Virat was left speechless.
