Virat Kohli & KL Rahul given rest for third T20I against South Africa at Indore

Xtra Time Web Desk: Star Indian cricketers Virat Kohli and KL Rahul were given rest for the inconsequential third T20I against South Africa at Indore. The duo will get three-day mini break before joining the Indian squad for departure to Australia for the T20 World Cup 2022.

Kohli had left for Mumbai on Monday morning to be with his family. Rahul has reached Bengaluru to be with his family too. The 15-member Indian squad along with support staffs will leave for Australia on October 6. They will be joined by the reserve players later after the conclusion of South Africa ODI series.

It is learnt BCCI will be sending three pacers, Kuldeep Sen, Chetan Sakariya and Mukesh Choudhary as net bowlers. The trio alongside Umran Malik will travel with the main squad squad for the ICC event.

As far as concerns regarding Virat Kohli’s form, it seems to have vanished. He was India’s top-scorer in Asia Cup and has been amongst runs in both Australia and South Africa series. Since his return from month-long break, Kohli has averaged 57.71, scoring a century and 3 half-centuries in 10 matches.
