Xtra Time Web Desk: India’s star batter Virat Kohli was seen batting in the nets at the Lord’s ahead of Thursday’s second ODI against England. There has been a lot of speculation whether Kohli will play in the second ODI or not after he missed out the first ODI at the Oval due to a groin injury. Shreyas Iyer was included in India’s playing XI for the match at The Oval and the BCCI had shared an update on Kohli’s injury because of which he didn’t play the match.

Virat was seen walking towards the nursery end of the Lord’s to have a knock at the nets. He took throwdowns from batting coach Vikram Rathour. Ravindra Jadeja too batted along with Virat. After having a knock for 20 minutes, Virat started walking back to the pavilion.

It seems like the former skipper will take the field in the second match of the series. India had beaten the world champions by 10 wickets in a one-sided encounter at The Oval as England were bowled out for 110, their lowest ODI total against India.

Meanwhile, Virat has been rested for the tour to West Indies which will immediately follow the ODI series.

Kohli has been fighting a dodgy form off late and failed to get going in the rescheduled Test match as well as the two T20Is he played against England.

Several former cricketers have raised questions about Kohli’s place in the T20I side due to his poor form and low strike-rate.
