Umran Malik renews rivalry with BlackCaps pacer Lockie Ferguson; clocks 153 kmph on ODI debut | NZvsIND

Xtra Time Web Desk: Team India speedster Umran Malik renewed his rivalry with BlackCaps Lockie Ferguson during the first ODI at Eden Park in Auckland on Friday. The battle between the two tearaway pacers was a treat to watch for the fans.

Both Umran and Lockie tried to bowl faster than each other. But it was the BlackCaps pacer who was a fraction quicker than Umran. While the Indian speedster clocked an astonishing 153 kmph on his ODI debut against BlackCaps at Eden Park, Lockie on the other hand clocked 153.4 kmph.

The Jammu & Kashmir pacer had a memorable ODI debut as he consistently clocked 145 kmph. Umran’s first spell was economical as he picked up two wickets for 29 runs in six overs. The right-arm pacer dismissed BlackCaps opener Devon Conway to bag his first wicket in the ODI format and also picked Daryl Mitchell. His spell read 10-0-66-2.

Earlier in the day, Umran was handed his ODI cap by Team India bowling coach Sairaj Bahutule. Arshdeep Singh too made his ODI debut on Friday.

With more exposures, Umran Malik will only get better.
