Xtra Time Web Desk: Was Umran Malik trying to impress Rohit Sharma with a bouncer during the IPL game between Sunrisers Hyderabad and Mumbai Indians at Wankhede stadium? The fast bowler from Jammu & Kashmir bowled a short ball that hit Mumbai Indians captain.
The incident happened in the 8th over of the Mumbai Indians innings. The first ball bowled by Umran was a bouncer on middle. It clangs Rohit on the helmet from the sounds of it and it caroms off the lid to the fine leg rope. The umpire called it a no ball called because of height.
This is not the first time Umran has hit the helmet of an opponent batter. In an earlier match Umran hit the helmet of Gujarat Titans captain Hardik Pandya as well. He picked the wickets of Ishan Kishan, Daniel Sams and Tilak Varma.
