Xtra Time Web Desk: Uganda has achieved a historic milestone by securing qualification for the men's T20 World Cup 2024, marking the nation's inaugural entry into the prestigious tournament. The 23rd-ranked team's decisive victory over Rwanda ensured their progression alongside Namibia from the African qualifiers. Notably, this triumph came at the expense of Zimbabwe, a seasoned participant that, despite defeating eventual finalist Pakistan in the 2022 edition, now finds itself excluded from the upcoming 20-team competition.

Uganda's remarkable journey featured a upset against Zimbabwe, winning by five wickets in their first T20 international against a full ICC member. Following this breakthrough, they continued their success by overcoming Tanzania, Nigeria, and Kenya before sealing their qualification with a swift chase of a 66-run target in just 8.1 overs against Rwanda.

The 20 qualified teams will be divided into four groups of five, with the top two from each group advancing to the Super 8 stage. Subsequently, the teams will be further divided into two groups of four, leading to knockout rounds and culminating in the final on June 30.
