Xtra Time Web Desk: Goals from Kylian Mbappe and Antoine Griezmann helped France register a 2-1 win against Croatia in UEFA Nations League top tier Group 3 match at Maksimir on Wednesday.  The result left the World Champions second in the group on 10 points from four games, behind Portugal on goal difference after the European champions brushed aside Sweden 3-0.

The absence of Cristiano Ronaldo did not seem to affect his teammates as Portugal had a relatively easy outing against Sweden. Bernardo Silva and Diogo Jota were on target for the European Champions. Ronaldo is currently quarantining himself in Italy after he was tested positive for coronavirus on Monday in Lisbon.

With 10 points from four games, Portugal top Group 2 in League A on goal difference ahead of France, who beat Croatia 2-1 in Zagreb. The Swedes are bottom of the group after slumping to four straight defeats.

The biggest upset on Wednesday night was Denmark inflicting a 1-0 defeat on England at Wembley Stadium. The hosts were reduced to 9 men as Harry Maguire and Reece James were shown red cards. Gareth Southgate’s team now find themselves in third spot in their Nations League group.
