Mehul Bhattacharya: Chelsea faced off against Real Madrid last night in a bid to book a spot in the Champions League final against Manchester City, with the score from the first leg pinned at 1-1. The game was intensely contested, and in the end, Chelsea ran out as 2-0 victors to book their final sport, winning the tie 3-1 on aggregate.

In a game where Real Madrid dominated the ball, especially in the first half, both sides got their fair share of chances, but it was Chelsea who were able to capitalize on them. For Chelsea, N’Golo Kante was all over the pitch, and he absolutely dictated the flow of the game. Chelsea had quite a few chances, with a Timo Werner goal being disallowed in the 18th minute, but they sprung back 10 minutes later to score, with Timo Werner netting a header off a rebound from the crossbar.

Real Madrid had quite a few huge chances, especially thanks to Benzema, however none of them failed to materialize in the form of a goal. The entire Chelsea team put every ounce of effort into the game, and soon enough, they were rewarded with a second goal, with Mason Mount slotting on in from the six-yard box to give Chelsea a 2 goal lead in the aggregate. In the end, this was enough to see them through, as the game ended 2-0 in their favour, sealing a Champions League final showdown between Chelsea and Manchester City.
