Xtra Time Web Desk: In this year's IPL, there have been four rule changes that differentiate it from international and top-tier cricket.

Two bouncers per over: In international cricket, bowlers are allowed to bowl only one bouncer per over in the white-ball format. However, in the IPL, this rule has been changed to allow bowlers to bowl two bouncers per over. This change has been made to provide bowlers with additional flexibility.

Change in the review rule: In international cricket, if the bowling team takes a review for a potential stumping or LBW dismissal, only that aspect will be considered by the third umpire. However, in the IPL, if a review is taken for a potential stumping or LBW dismissal, the third umpire will also check whether the batsman has edged the ball before considering the stumping or LBW decision.

No stop clock rule: In international cricket, there is a stop clock rule where the bowling team has to start the next over within 60 seconds of the previous over ending. However, in the IPL, this rule has been abolished to allow more flexibility for the bowling team to plan their strategies between overs.

Smart replay system: In this year's IPL, a smart replay system will be introduced for reviews. This system will involve two specialists sitting alongside the third umpire to control the technology. This will ensure that reviews are quickly seen and decisions are made efficiently. Additionally, more high-resolution cameras will be placed around the field to avoid any issues during reviews.

These rule changes aim to enhance the dynamics of matches in the IPL and make it more exciting for fans.
