Transfer News: SC East Bengal's Bright Enobakhare in talks with Coventry City
Xtra Time Web Desk: SC East Bengal is all set to suffer yet another setback as Nigerian striker Bright Enobakhare is likely to return to his former club Coventry City. The former Wolverhampton Wanderers who played for Coventry on loan in 2019 season is unlikely to renew his ties with SC East Bengal. Coventry City manager Mark Robbins is looking to sign a player who can play as a second striker cum attacking midfielder, and Enobakhare perfectly fits in that role. One of the major reason for Enobakhare leaving SC East Bengal is the ongoing tussle between the club (East Bengal) and investors (Shree Cement).
As per reports in Coventry Live, the Sky Blues are interested in talking to the mercurial talent who helped set the club alight during a memorable half season loan spell in League One in 2019, when he scored six goals in 18, often dazzling displays.
23 year old Enobakhare was one of the brightest stars in SC East Bengal during the club’s maiden season in ISL 2020-21. He made 12 appearances in the Indian Super League and managed to score three goals. His goal against Odisha FC was arguably one of the best goals scored in the Indian Super League history.
Enobakhare signed for SC East Bengal in January on a short term deal. One of the significant reasons for Enobakhare joining SC East Bengal was the presence of England and Liverpool's legend Robbie Fowler as the Head Coach of the side.
