Kolkata: Kolkata Maidan is all set to witness a new "tug of war" in the transfer market as Kolkata Giants Mohun Bagan and Mohammedan Sporting are 'reportedly' desperate to sign Aizawl FC's Nigerian defender Kingsley who had been outstanding this season for the highlanders and played a superb role to help the Mizoram based club to win their first ever I-League title. Kingfisher East Bengal too has reportedly joined the race to sign the defender.
Mohammedan Sporting, who are building a strong squad for this season, were in advanced talks with the Nigerian defender. But as per sources, Mohun Bagan offered him all of a sudden to snatch the deal in their favour. Reportedly, Mohammedan Sporting offered the Nigerian an amount of 35 lacs, In reply, it is heard that the Mohun Bagan officials offered him five lacs more to sign in their favour.
Mohammedan Sporting official Belal Khan told www.xtratime.in , "Yes I heard that Mohun Bagan has offered him a better contract than us. This happens in the transfer window. But we are still positive about him."
Meanwhile, East Bengal sources revealed that the Nigerian defender is responding to their proposals as well. Now it is to see who wins the race to sign him.
