Xtra Time Web Desk: Good news for the Indian athletes as they will be allowed to move around inside the Olympic village after checking in. The first batch of the Indian Olympics team reached Tokyo on Sunday morning. According to India’s deputy chef-de-mission (CDM) for the Tokyo Olympics, Dr Prem Verma to Times of India, the country’s athletes wouldn’t necessarily have to undergo a strict “isolation period” for three days upon their arrival at the Village.
The athletes can move around inside the Village campus housing 11,000 Games participants and avail the services of a “main dining area, gymnasium, tower lifts and common areas and linen collection centre” from the first day after checking in
The Indian contingent has been provided with 182 rooms in the Olympics Games Village. The Indians will be staying at Tower 15. Overall there are 28 towers in the Olympics village. The Indians will be staying on floor 11, 12 & 13. The Indians will have South Africa. Denmark, Belgium & Norway as their neighbors.

Each of 182 rooms given to the Indian squad will have two single beds. All the beds are made out of cardboards. Each bed is said to be able to withstand 200 kilograms of weight. The bed sheets, towels and cutlery sets are all branded with the logo of Tokyo Olympics

Once both Games are over, the beds will be recycled into paper products and the mattresses will be made into plastic products.
