This World Cup winning cricketer joins Ganguly, Azhar . Find how?

XtraTime Web Desk: 1983 World Cup winning cricketer Roger Binny was elected the President of Karnataka State Cricket Association on Thursday. Binny edged out MM Harish for the post of President by 943-111 votes. With the former India all-rounder becoming the President, Binny now joins Sourav Ganguly,Md Azharuddin and Jaydev Shah, who have also been elected as the President of their respective cricket associations.

J. Abhiram was elected vice-president while Santosh Menon became the secretary as the Brijesh Patel-backed group won all 16 seats (five office bearers and 11 managing committee members). Vinay Mruthyunjaya was elected treasurer while Shavir Tarapore, the former international umpire, was elected joint secretary. Shanta Rangaswamy, who recently resigned as a member of the Cricket Advisory Committee, was elected as a managing committee member.

It is also learnt that former KSCA secretary Brijesh Patel will be representing the association at the BCCI AGM which will be held on October 23.
