XtraTime Web Desk: Former I League winning footballer Ranti Martins has decided to hang up his boots. The Nigerian somewhat silently chose to bid adieu to the game he loved. Ranti has not played any professional football since 2018.

The last time the former Dempo and East Bengal striker was seen in action was for American club side SGFC Merryland. One of the most consistent performers in the history of I League, decided to pull curtains to his football career owing to injuries.

Ranti, who resides now in the United States, has turned out to be a businessman. He has a real estate business in America and Nigeria. He is also working as a football agent. In order to stay fit he regularly finds time to train and plays football for an amateur club in Atlanta.

Due to the time difference, Ranti is not able to keep track of the recent developments in Indian football. But the Nigerian goal machine still remembers the glory days he spent while playing football in India. He still cherishes the love and affection he got from his fans in India.

Ranti has scored an accumulated 214 goals in National League and I League. He is the all time leading goal scorer in the history of I League. No one is even closer to breaking his record. But as they say records are meant to be broken, someone will go on to break the record someday in the future.
