The success story of MS Dhoni: Growing up in Mecon colony to owning a farm house
Xtra Time Web Desk: The rise of MS Dhoni belonging to a middle-class family with modest living style to becoming one of the richest cricketers in the world has become an epitome of success. The two times World Cup winning cricketer whose childhood and young days was spent in a small room of MECON Colony situated in Doranda area in Ranchi is now the owner of a lavish 7 acre farmhouse ‘Kailashpati’ where he is spending time with his family during the nationwide lockdown. It was in 2015 when Dhoni announced on his birthday on July 07 that he is going to have his own farm house. He posted a picture of planting a tree at his farmhouse the following year, on his 34th birthday. Form a young boy who got his first job at SAIL (Steel Authority of India Limited) and earning a meager Rs 625 a month to owning the world’s most lavish cars and bikes, is undoubtedly rags to riches story. A long haired cricketer from Jharkhand, working as ticket collector in Kharagpur to leading India to two World Cups is no less inspiring either. Most of it is covered in landscaped lawns and different kinds of trees, something Dhoni really loves. The farmhouse also has a separate complex that has glass walls, which houses the 38-year-old’s most prized possessions – ie, his enviable collection of bikes and cars.
