XtraTime Web Desk: The Board of Control for Cricket in India has taken a decision to postpone the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020 until further notice. BCCI is all set to give an official on the postponement very soon. The BCCI on Wednesday talked to all eight IPL franchises and other top stakeholders of the cash rich league. They had a detailed discussion on the current situation which has occurred after the deadly COVID-19 pandemic and finally they told that "given the situation, there is no choice but to postpone the IPL further. Further discussions will take place once the threat of Covid-19 subsides". BCCI President Sourav Ganguly, Secretary Jay Shah, Treasurer Arun Thakur, IPL governing council chairman Brijesh Patel & other senior Board employees who look after the league has had a conference call on Tuesday regarding the future of this season’s IPL and after that the board decided that they will convey about the outcome of the discussion to all eight franchises. The Board, on Wednesday, separately contacted all the franchises and informed them that in the given situation – with Covid-19 not showing any signs of subsiding - "the IPL is being shelved for the time being".
