Xtra Time Web Desk: Sunil Gavaskar has advised Virat Kohli to focus on maintaining perfect body balance while batting in preparation for the T20 World Cup final between India and South Africa in Barbados on Saturday, June 29. Kohli, who has struggled with form in the current edition, has adopted a selfless approach at the top of the order, similar to Rohit Sharma’s attacking style from the outset. This shift in strategy has not yielded the desired results, as Kohli has managed to score only 75 runs in seven matches.

In an interview with India Today, Gavaskar offered some advice to the star batter, urging him to play his shots with consistent body balance. According to the Indian cricket legend, Kohli tends to lose his balance when trying to power the ball, resulting in missed shots. Gavaskar highlighted Kohli's six off Reece Topley in the semi-final as an example of perfect balance and effective use of the bottom hand.

"As long as it ends in a win. It's a final and it will be played on a better batting surface. Like I keep saying, what Kohli has to do is just play the shots that he plays with the same body balance. When he is looking to power the ball away, then he is losing his body balance and he misses the ball. So, all that needs to do is, that six he hit (off Reece Topley). It was brilliant balance and he just flicked the ball with the bottom hand. That's all he has to do," said Gavaskar.

Gavaskar also pointed out that when Kohli moves around too much, his head tends to shake, which negatively impacts his performance. He suggested that Kohli should relax a bit and aim to play a longer innings in the final.

"When he starts to move around, the head shakes as well. And therefore, it is not helping him. This is something you see in slow-mo as well. All that he needs to do is chill a bit and play that big hand and will give India the big score," Gavaskar added.Kohli remains a key player for India in the final, and both Rahul Dravid and Rohit Sharma have expressed their support for the star batter to regain his form.
