Suryakumar Yadav undergoes successful sports hernia surgery
Xtra Time Web Desk: Team India star batter Suryakumar Yadav recently underwent a successful sports hernia surgery in Germany. This was his second surgical procedure in a brief period, having previously addressed an ankle injury. The world's top-ranked T20I batter, shared the news on microblogging site X (formerly Twitter), expressing gratitude for the well-wishes and assuring fans of his imminent return.
The 33-year-old initially suffered an ankle injury during the T20I series against South Africa last month, necessitating surgical intervention. While these twin surgeries will sideline him for some time, reports indicate his anticipated comeback for the IPL 2024, representing the Mumbai Indians, the five-time champions.

Surya currently missed the T20I series against Afghanistan at home due to the injury. The dashing batter remains a crucial player in India's T20I squad for the upcoming world cup, co-hosted by West Indies and the USA in June. With an impressive record, he has amassed 2141 runs in 57 innings at an average of 45.55, featuring four centuries and 17 half-centuries, showcasing a remarkable strike rate of 171.55.
