Xtra Time Web Desk: Team India’s woman wicket keeper-batter Taniya Bhatia faced a shocking incident on Monday at the Marriott Hotel in London. Her bag including her cash, cards, watches and jewellery got stolen from her hotel room.
Taniya tweeted on her official Twitter handle stating “Shocked and disappointed at Marriott Hotel London Maida Vale management; someone walked into my personal room and stole my bag with cash, cards, watches and jewellery during my recent stay as a part of Indian Women’s Cricket Team. MarriotBonvoy, Marriott. So unsafe.”
She further added, “hoping for a quick investigation and resolution of this matter. Such lack of security at ECB_cricket’s preferred hotel partner is astounding. Hope they will cognisance as well.”
Following the wicket keeper batter complaint, the officials of the Marriott Hotel responded via their Twitter handle, “Hi Taniyaa, we are sorry to hear this. Please DM us your name and the email address you made the reservation with and the exact dates of your stay, so we can look into this further.”
Several questions have been raised regarding the hotel’s security and safety issues after this shocking incident. The investigation has already started by the hotel management.
On Saturday, Indian Women’s cricket team won their first ever ODI series against England which also includes the Mankading Run out controversy by Deepti Sharma.
