Pakistan completed their highest successful T-20I run chase to go 2-1 up against Proteas

Subhabrata Mukherjee: On Wednesday in Supersport Park cricket world witnessed one of the finest run chase in the history of T-20I as Pakistan completed  their highest  run chase in their history with 12 balls to go to take 2-1 lead versus South Africa in the ongoing T-20 series being played between two countries. After the loss in the one day series to Babar Azam and his men Proteas were without many of their first eleven players as they flew to India to take part in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL 2021). South Africa  started off their innings in grand fashion as openers Malan and Markram stitched together 108 run partnership  for the first wicket. Malan scored 55 runs from 40 balls and Markham scored a quick fire 63 runs from 38 balls. Van der Dussen scored quick fire 34 runs from 20 balls as South Africa scored 203 runs for the loss of 5 wickets from their alloted 20 overs. Chasing a tough target of 204 runs to win the match Pakistan openers Mohammad  Rizwan and captain Babar Azam was in the form of their life as South African bowlers struggled  to find the right length. Both the openers almost sealed the victory for Pakistan but Babar fell for 122 runs from just 59 balls when the team score was at 197. Rizwan scored an unbeaten 73 runs and along with Fakhar Zaman they ensured record breaking victory for Pakistan with 12 balls to spare as they go 2-1 ahead in the 4 match series.
