T20 World Cup: ICC announces full schedule; here is a look at India’s fixtures

Xtra Time Web Desk: The International Cricket Council (ICC) on Tuesday announced the fixtures for T20 World Cup 2021, scheduled to be held in the UAE and Oman from October 17 to November 14. As many as 8 teams will be involved in the qualification round from which 4 will make to the Super 12 stage, which will get underway from October 23.

The tournament will begin with double headers in Round 1 Group B with hosts Oman taking on Papua New Guinea and Scotland facing Bangladesh on 17 October,

Ireland, Netherlands, Sri Lanka and Namibia – making up Group A – will be in action in Abu Dhabi the next day, with Round 1 matches running till 22 October. Top 4 teams from the Super 12 will make it to the semi-finals.

The first semi-final will be held in Abu Dhabi on 10 November at 6 while the second semi-final will take place in Dubai on 11 November. Both semi-finals have reserve days.

The final will take place in Dubai at 6 pm local time on 14 November, Sunday, with Monday kept as a reserve day.

India will begin their campaign against arch rivals Pakistan on October 24 in Dubai. Kohli and his boys will next take on New Zealand on October 31 in Dubai before moving to Abu Dhabi to play Afghanistan on November 3. They will return to Dubai to face the two qualifiers on November 5 and 8.

India will play a total of 4 matches in Dubai and one in Abu Dhabi.

India vs Pakistan – October 24  in Dubai

India vs New Zealand – October 31 in Dubai

India vs Afghanistan – November 3 in Abu Dhabi

India vs B1 (qualifier) – November 5 in Dubai

India vs A2 (qualifier) – November 8 in Dubai
