With three days to go before the marquee clash between the two biggest cricketing nations, fans from all across the world has started arriving in Dubai. 63-year-old Bashir arrived in Karachi from Chicago on October 8 just to get a few specially designed jerseys made for the much-hyped match. Bashir, who is the biggest fan of Dhoni will be at the stadium with a specially made jersey with Dhoni’s photograph.

“Dhoni is here with Indian team as mentor so how can I miss the opportunity to see him. I didn’t have any jersey so I thought of travelling to Pakistan to get a few specially designed jerseys for Dhoni,” said Bashir to Xtra Time.

Apart from the jerseys Bashir also have made special masks with the pictures of Dhoni, Virat and Rohit. The jersey has a photograph n one side and the other side has the families of Virat, Rohit and Dhoni.

On being asked if Dhoni can inspire the Indian team as mentor to win the World Cup, Bashir’s prompt reply was, “I hope Dhoni can inspire the Indian team to win the T20 World Cup.”

Bashir decided not to watch any India Pakistan match when Dhoni announced his retirement from international cricket. But the moment he came to know about Dhoni’s appointment as the mentor of India team, Bashir planned his visit to Dubai.

According to Bashir, “The Indian cricket board has taken a smart decision to appoint Dhoni as the mentor of the team. It is a huge motivation for the players with Dhoni being around in the dressing room. Dhoni saab is a fatherly figure in the Indian team”

Indian captain Virat Kohli will be leading the country in this format for the last time in T20 World Cup. Bashir is hoping the Indian players bring out the best to help Virat win the T20 World Cup.

“Hope he (Virat) can lead India to win the T20 World Cup. And you have Rohit Sharma as well. He will also do well as a captain.” Signed off Bashir.
