Swami Vivekananda International school has special plan to honour their ex-students Rohit Sharma & Shardul Thakur

Xtra Time Web Desk: Vivekananda International School in Dadar is planning to name the gates after Rohit Sharma and Shardul Thakur if the Indian cricket team win the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023. Both Rohit and Shardul are past pupils of Vivekananda International School situated in Gorai 1, Borivali West in Mumbai.

The school authorities have decided to pay a tribute to their achievements, helping India to lift the World Cup after 12 years. The smaller entrance i.e., Gate number one, will be named after Shardul Thakur while the main entrance i.e., Gate number 2, will bear the name Rohit Sharma. However, this renaming will only materialise if India emerges victorious in the final to be held at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on November 19.

Dinesh Lad, childhood coach of both Rohit and Shardul, confirmed the school’s plans on Tuesday, to felicitate the two Indian cricketers who once honed their skills under Lad in the cricket academy run by the school.

Should India clinch the World Cup, Rohit Sharma will become the third Indian captain after Kapil Dev and MS Dhoni, to lead the country to a World Cup triumph.
