Suryakumar’s blazing ton powers India to a comprehensive 91 run win against Sri Lanka in decider at Rajkot | INDvsSL

Xtra Time Web Desk: Suryakumar Yadav hit a magnificent hundred (112 off 51 balls) as India registered a comprehensive 91-run win against Sri Lanka in the third T20I at the Saurashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Rajkot on Saturday. The win saw India winning the three-match T20I series 2-1.

Sky was at his very best as he blazed his way to an unbeaten 112 runs off just 51 balls that included 7 fours and 9 sixes. It was his third T20I hundred. There were useful contributions from Rahul Tripathi (35 off 16) and Shubman Gill (46 off 36) as India posted 228 runs.  Shubman’s knock was studded with two fours and three sixes while Tripathi displayed positive intent at the start, scoring 35 runs off 16 balls with five fours and two sixes.

Axar Patel, who has had an excellent series, especially with the bat, chipped in with an unbeaten 9-ball 21. Dilshan Madushanka picked up two wickets, but went for 55 runs.

Sri Lanka hardly posed any threat to the Indian bowlers in their run-chase. Pathum Nissanka and Kusal Mendis put on 44 runs for the opening wicket off 4.5 overs. But after Axar got rid of Mendis, the visitors failed to inject any sort of momentum into their innings. Dhananjaya de Silva and Dasun Shana scored 22 and 23 respectively, but couldn’t carry on.

Arshdeep Singh was the pick of the Indian bowlers after he finished with figures of 2.4-0-20-3. Hardik Pandya, Umran Malik and Yuzvendra Chahal picked up two wickets apiece.
