Xtra Time Web Desk: A fine unbeaten century (106* off 47 balls) from David Miller went in vain as India defeated South Africa by 16 runs in the second T20I at Guwahati to clinch the three-match series 2-0. Fine half centuries from Suryakumar Yadav (61 off 22) and KL Rahul (57 from 28) powered India to 237-run total. The visitors despite making a poor start fell shot by just 16 runs. Proteas opener Quinton De Kock scored 69 runs as well. This was India’s first-ever series win against South Africa at home in T20Is.

Chasing a massive target of 238, South Africa once again were off to a poor start, losing their captain Temba Bavuma for a golden duck. Arshdeep Singh dismissed Bavuma and Rilee Rossouw in his first over. While Aiden Markram (33 off 19) played some fantastic shots, Axar Patel got his wicket to reduce South Africa to 47/3 in 7th over. At half way stage South Africa were 86/3 with David Miller and de Kock at the crease. The duo scored 151 runs in the last 10 but could not take the team home.

Earlier put to bat first, India posted a daunting total of 237/3 with the help of stunning half-centuries from Suraykumar Yadav and KL Rahul. Suraykumar slammed 61 runs in 22 balls, while Rahul played a knock of 57 off 28. Virat Kohli looked in red-hot form as he slammed unbeaten 49 runs off 28 balls. Rahul was adjudged the Man of the Match.
