Suryakumar, Arshdeep star as India XI register 13 runs win against Western Australia XI at WACA | T20 World Cup 2022

Xtra Time Web Desk: Rohit Sharma led Indian cricket team registered a comfortable 13 runs win against Western Australia XI in the first practice game at WACA ground on Sunday ahead of the T20 World Cup 2022. Suryakumar Yadav scored a blazing half century off just 35 balls while Arshdeep Singh took 3 wickets giving away 6 runs.
Chasing a target of 159 runs, WA-XI could only manage 145/8. Sam Fanning smashed a brilliant 59. Suryakumar Yadav smashed 35-ball 52 to help India post 158/6. SKY’s knock was studded with three fours and as many sixes in his 35-ball knock, much to the delight of hundreds of Indjan fans gathered at the WACA to watch the practice match.
Earlier, India opened the batting with Rishabh Pant along with captain Rohit Sharma. The Indian captain did not last long, scoring just 3 runs. Pant too failed to utilize the opportunity as he managed only 9 runs from 16 balls. Deepak Hooda, who was promoted in the batting order scored 22 off 14 balls. India was 45/3. Suryakumar Yadav (52 off 35 balls) and Hardik Pandya (27 off 20 balls) stitched a valuable partnership. Dinesh Karthik chipped in with an unbeaten 19* to take the score to 158/6
Virat Kohli, KL Rahul and Ravichandran Ashwin were rested for the practice game.
