Super Cup: Minerva Punjab boycotts the press conference ahead of the qualifier. What will happen next?

XtraTime Web Desk: Ahead of Super Cup qualifying game I-League side Minerva Punjab FC didn’t take part in the press conference and not only that they also didn’t meet the match commissioner as well. Is Minerva Punjab skipping the Super Cup? Their owner Ranjit Bajaj said,” If AIFF President Mr. Praful Patel doesn’t meet with the I-League clubs we won’t play in the tournament. Our stand remains the sam today which was on Wednesday. Neither we took part in the press conference nor did we meet with the match commissioner. The team will return to Punjab tomorrow.”

On being asked why they went to Bhubneshwar if their intention wasn’t to play in the tournament, Ranjit replied,” We went there to take part in the Super Cup. But we had given a condition but the federation didn’t listen to us. Beside that they are telling lies to the media houses. They have said that Praful Patel is ready to sit with the I-League clubs but we haven’t received any mail regarding the meeting.”

As of now they won’t play against FC Pune City in the qualifier which is scheduled to take place on Friday.
