Xtra Time Web Desk: The Sri Lankan cricket team on Saturday left Colombo for their white ball tour to India. Dasun Shanaka and his boys will play three T20Is and as many ODIs against India. The first T20I will be played at the Wankhede stadium on January 3 while the final ODI will be played on January 15.

The Lankan cricketers assembled at the Sri Lanka Cricket Head quarters in Colombo ahead of their departure to India. The current squad has two vice-captains. While Wanindu Hasaranga has been appointed as the vice-captain of the Sri Lankan team for the T20Is, Kushal Mendis has been named as Dasun Sahanaka’s deputy for the ODI series. Boh Hasaranga and Mendis spoke to the local media before departing for India.

Sri Lanka, who are the current Asia Cup champions will look to pose a stiff challenge against Hardik Pandya led Indian team in the T20Is. The 3-match series will be played in Mumbai, Pune and Rajkot while the ODIs will be played in Guwahati, Kolkata and Thiruvananthapuram.

The last time the Islanders visited India in 2022, they were clean-swept in T20Is 0-3 before being whitewashed in the two match test series 2-0.
