Internet Desk: In a world of fast paced digital media news spread like wildfires. That is what happened with a misquoted comment from Sourav Ganguly on Virender Sehwag. The former India captain was quoted by news agency that Sehwag “spoke foolishly” when he claimed that “lack of setting” cost him the national team chief coach’s job.

“I’ve got nothing to say. Sehwag spoke foolishly (bokar moton boleche),” The Cricket Association of Bengal President was somewhat informally talking to a handful of scribes before he was leaving the Eden Gardens on Saturday evening. The former India captain did not want him to be quoted on the issue as it was an informal chat.

But the former cricketer who was also a part of the three members Cricket Advisory Committee of the BCCI found his comment being published in media.

Seeing no other options he later tweeted a denial about his comment. In his tweet Ganguly said, “My quote on Sehwag completely false ..right quote .. Sehwag very dear to me. Will speak to him soon..”

Defending Ganguly, Sehwag too tweeted a little later. In his trademark way, Viru tweeted, “Har kisi ko safai mat do , aap insaan ho , washing powder nahin !

The former India opener in a TV interview claimed that he did not become the head coach because of lack of “setting”. He also had said that he was misled by a section of the BCCI into applying for the post.

Ganguly, however, refused to be dragged into the issue any further.
