Sourav Ganguly comes forward to help fight the battle against COVID-19, to distribute oxygen concentrators in the state

Xtra Time Web Desk: Former India captain and current BCCI President Sourav Ganguly has once again come forward for a noble cause. His foundation (Sourav Ganguly Foundation) has joined hands with JSW Group and Satadru Dutta Initiative to distribute 50 oxygen concentrators to multiple hospitals in the city. They will also provide PPE Kit and food for patients battling the dreaded virus.

The distribution of concentrators for hospitals and voluntary organizations started from Saturday. A pair of concentrators was donated from Sourav’s office to Vidyasagar Hospital in Behala and an oxygen parlor in Rajarhat.  The initiative known as COVID CARE will be providing free oxygen in two buses which is converted into an oxygen parlour for 40 patients. Apart from it there will be twenty mobile unit which will carry oxygen, food and other essential services. There is a thirty bed ‘safe home’ at Salboni as well.

The state of Bengal will once again witness a lockdown from Sunday, announced the state government. Last year during the nationwide lockdown, Sourav decided to distribute rice for the needy and poor people through charitable organizations like the Ramkrishna Seva Pratisthan, Iskon and others.
