Xtra Time Web Desk: Swedish star Zlatan Ibrahimovic will miss the Euros this year owing to a knee injury. Ibrahimovic went off the pitch in the 64th minute in AC Milan’s game against Juventus last week, which they won 3-0. Xtra Time understands that the forward has been recommended to undergo a cautious rehabilitation process for his knee, that could last six weeks, thereby putting his place at Euro 2020 in jeopardy.

His national team, Sweden, have confirmed that the 39-year-old informed the team head coach Janne Andersson that the injury has made him unavailable for this summer’s tournament. Milan have two games remaining in the Serie A season, while Sweden kick-off their Euro 2020 campaign against Spain on June 14. Ibrahimovic has had a fairly good season till date, having netted 15 goals in the league, however this injury may derail his form. Furthermore, it is bad news for Sweden, who will be without their veteran striker for what is bound to be a tough European Championship campaign.
