Shubman Gill share his five wish-list of 2023 in Instagram post

Xtra Time Web Desk: Team India’s star batter Shubman Gill has had a mixed bag of success in 2023. The 24-year-old shared his wish list for 2023 on his Instagram account. The year kicked off with a bang as he delivered stellar performances in the home series against New Zealand, culminating in his maiden double-century in ODIs.

In his reflective Instagram post, Gill acknowledged the year’s highs and lows, expressing gratitude for the experiences, fun moments, and valuable lessons. Despite the unplanned end, he takes pride in the team’s effort, stating they came incredibly close to their goals, giving their all throughout the challenging journey. As he looks back on this career-defining year, Gill remains optimistic and proud of the team’s collective dedication and resilience.

Shubman’s first wish list in 2023 was to become the batter with most hundreds. His second wish list was making his family happy. Giving his best for the country and franchise was Gill’s third wish list. Winning the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 at home was the fourth wish list of Shubman. The last wish in the list was to win the Orange Cap in IPL 2023.

Barring the exception of winning the World Cup, Gill had all his wishes fulfilled. Here is the Instagram post of Gujarat Titans captain.

Carrying his batting brilliance to the IPL 2023, Gill showcased his prowess, amassing a staggering 890 runs for Gujarat Titans. Despite the team reaching the final, they narrowly missed clinching the title by a whisker in a closely contested season.

The ODI World Cup on home soil brought an unexpected challenge as Gill battled dengue, forcing him to sit out the initial two matches. However, he made a swift recovery and returned against Pakistan, contributing to India’s dominant run until the heartbreaking loss to Australia in the final.

The Boxing Day Test against South Africa added to the year’s heartbreak, with Team India, led by Gill, succumbing to a defeat by an innings and 32 runs at SuperSport Park Cricket Stadium in Centurion.
